Beautiful Sceneries
Simple app and beautiful backgrounds, but there needs to be more choices. And enough of the Yosemite backgrounds!!!

Works great, looks great and finally enjoying content that using the machines capabilities. So far so good!
Jittery, low resolution, nowhere near 4K, and not worth it. Waste of money, looking to get my money back. Planning on getting a refund from Mac App Store.
Been using Magic Window for 2 years now and absolulty love it. But on a MBP with retina display Magic window 4k looks so much better! It is totally worth the price for me. + 4K also includes a lot of new scenes that go with yosemite.
I really like this app. It runs behind my work and sometimes right up front when I’m listening to music or walking around or just want to be transported to a different scene than I find myself. Highly recommended. I’d recommend the app maker hook up with a scent maker. Mate the scenes with a small odor emitter that is powered and connected by USB. the user can clip by the computer somewhere. This would be inexpensive well recieved I can assure you. Damon in Orlando
Don’t waste your money purchasing an iMac with Retina display UNLESS you also purchase Magic Window 4K. This is one of the best apps ever! The scenes are fantastic, they run smoothly, they are relaxing, yet keep you focused and on task. The producers do a terrific job of finding just the right subjects to shoot. They have a good “eye” for capturing pleasing time lapse scenes…again, DO NOT purchase an iMac with retina display without also purchasing this app. If the “suits” (actually, the casual dressers) at Apple were wise, they would hire Jetson creative LLC or purchase the rights to their products and GIVE their customers the app for free…
Purchased the regular version and was forced to purchase the 4k version after seeing how bad the regular verison looked on new iMac. Biggest probelm I have with this 10$ app is IT DOESNT HAVE ALL THE SCENES the regular verison does (most of the good images). Vast majorityof images in 4k version are VERY SIMILAR (boring nature themes). Get it together guys, and update the this more expensive version with all the offerings the 3$ version have. What a let down! WAIST OF MONEY
I bought this for my Mac because I adore the ipad version. But the scene choices are rather disappointing. Hope it gets better, because it’s an amazing app.
I have their iPad and now their 4K OS X screen saver. I’m impressed with the number of scenes (40 total), the ultra 4K HD quality, and the overall craftsmanship of this app. Very happy to have a window to beautiful nature and different cities. Great for a quick escape during a hectic work day.
This is part of the Art Work for my office. I have it on all the time. There isn’t anything like it of this quality. I know, because I’ve been buying several and nothing comes close. Thanks Magic Windows and keep it up.
Absoultely gorgeous app. Don’t mess around with the built in screen saver, make sure to the get the System Screen Saver Plug-In from their website. Can’t wait for them to add more scenes and bring all the ones from the old app into 4K.
This App has gone from strength to strength with each iteration! the addition of the screensaver has just added value. Now with the fact that every few months they add in more scenes this is the best way to showcase amazing screen in the super retna iMacs

I suffer from seasonal affective disorder and this magic window brings a bit of joy to the stark days of winter
I love this app, the scenes are high quality and are wonderful backdrops for my computer. However I would love for you guys to add more scenes to the list. Particularly more of Europe. i.e. Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Wales, Sweden and countries around that area. but other than that I have no complaints!
Thought it was going to be a great app! However, Instructions are confusing, chosen wallpaper/ time-lapse won’t stay when its tested, and finally when i clicked on the screensaver I wanted and proccede to test it I get a black screen. I kinda want my money back!
App Never Worked Well
This app always gave a prompt that I had to pay even though I already did. Yet I was able to access a few features once in a while. Eventually I wound up going with a differet app called Wallpaper X. Now when I try to open Magic Window 4K, nothing happens. So now I cannot access anything. Total waste of money.
Buyer Beware - you should know that...
time lapse desktops does not mean it will look like a video is playing. It runs extremely chopy on my aging but upgraded 2018 15" MacBook Pro wtih Excel running. I'm mean if you can really use any other apps while you run the thing, what's the point? I still miss the discontinued program My Living Desktop. The program seems stable otherwise, easy to use and many more options than I anticipated, which I like. For a user like me, I think I will be more happy with the 24 Hour Wallpaper program instead.

My students loved it!
I had this on the classroom so often during the day that my students began to immediately recognize certain places. Imagine how brilliant they felt recognizing Paris by certain landmarks. It is a wonderful learning tool and generated many great comparisons with our own city and discussions.
favorite desktop app
I've been using this app for a long time now. My only complaint is that I apparently have no choice but to use it on both monitors. If I could change one thing this would be it. It'd get 5 stars otherwise. edit: I heard from the developer. it is possible to disable the display but it wasn't in a spot I had checked. i've updated the rating to 5 stars.
I love it
I love magic window. I even had a problem with it, but the developer worked with me to resolve it. I wouldn't have a mac without it.
Flippin Beautiful
I don't really write reviews but was moved to with this app. Sometimes I just sit back and watch. Makes me love my Mac that much more. I upgraded my RAM recently and especially love it in the fastest mode. Very nice... I also love seeing my home state of New Mexico represented a couple times here!
Nice, but it’s not for me.
I like this app but it didn't crossover to other devices. I found the same sences for my AppleTV for $2.99. I’m new to Apple Mac so I maybe just having a hard time navigating. I saw two different city scenes which are my main interest. I’ll keep the AppleTV app it is very nice.
My favorite wallpaper app
I have a lot of wallpaper apps, mostly because they make it easier to look at something while I’m procrastinating at work. This one is, in my opinion, by far the best of those apps. The developers put a ton of time and effort into this app, which is actually at least two major projects: the app itself and also the gorgeous photography. Someone has found the perfect way to use travelling the world as a legitimate business expense, which deserves a sixth star for sheer inventiveness. The library of scenes is huge for the price of this app. Thanks to the devs.
Breath Taking!
Everytime this app put on an update, I think: “wow, this is really what I paied this app for!!” I am impressed by the quality of the view and the great work the app’s team has done. However, if your machine is not powerful enough, you should purchse the non-4K version. The 4K version does consume your CPU power if you run it in the fastest speed, but you can always use the 4K version and make the sence still or run at the lowest speed! Thank you Magic Window! Keep up with the good work!!!
One of best wallpaper app that I found on the APP STORE !
This is one of best live wallpaper app that I got it from App Store ! , like the stunning high quality seamless live wallpaper of this app. At first before I purchased this app , I didn’t expect it much , but after I downloaded app I changed my mind, app works smooth on my computer even on old mac , it use only small percentage of CPU so it doesn’t make my Computer slow ~ , Many of other live wallpaper app use so much Cpu but this one use only little which is great . And Really the timeless wallaper is so pretty to look at it on every day use. I can see the scene of wallaper slowly change ~ while I do the other work on my computer. Waiting for more beautiful live timeless wallaper on next update ~ I’ll Give 5 STAR for this GREAT APP ! ! ! !
Wonderful Scenes, Wonderful App
I just bought a new iMac and was looking for applications that would show off the 5K display. This is the app! I had the previous version on my older MacBook Pro but I purchased Magic Window 4K because I belive in supporting app developers and artists. I don’t want to be without this app again as I have missed the scenes over the last few months. It’s great to back viewing these beautful scenes and if you love gorgeous scenery and captivating city scenes, get this app. You will feel the opposite of regret.
The best part of my new iMac!I Simply breathtaking!
I just adore this app. The photos are spectacular, and the time lapse is mesmerizing. I had the previous version and loved it, and immediately got the 4K version with my brand new iMac. Really, these developers are so gifted and so customer friendly. I wish I had the time to read all of the stories behind each of their photos, but it’s so wonderful that they are included. And you can personalize in so many ways, by choosing your favorite images to loop (alas, they are all my favorite images), and by adjusting the speed of the time lapse. I sign up for the BETA versions because I just can’t wait to get the latest and greatest images. And the developers get back to you within less than a day, if for no other reason than to thank you for letting them know how much you adore their app. If you love beautiful, breathtaking images that take you on mini excursions around the world to watch the sunrise, the sunset, and the coulds rolling over, this is your app!
Crashes Often
Images are great but it crashes often.
Bummed.
I like the app but spent the money to buy it and it slows my computer down rediculously. Since i got deleted it. Totlal difference to my computer. Pretty and at cost of slow loading film and other software.
Beautiful and works great
I’ve always wanted a “live” desktop. Something that’s not too distracting… say a steady shot of a lake, with just the ripples moving through the water. This isn’t quite that since it’s timelapse and not video… but it’s darn close, and in some ways better, since timelapse allows for colors to change as the sun rises and sets. Honestly, I’m so happy I can make use of my iMac's 5K monitor with these beautiful living images. I don’t notice it affecting performance either. Please support these developers and download this app, so that they can keep creating amazing content. It will bring more beauty to your day.
Works Smoothly
I enjoy most aspects of MW4K. It works great on my 2013 iMac, and there are only a couple of elements which need improvement, but which do not detract from a five star rating. The scene browser could be larger; it uses the same scene browser from the orginal Magic Window, but which now looks expecially small on the larger displays 4K is meant for. Also, There are a bunch of favorite scenes from the original Magic Window that are missing from the 4K lineup, because (understandably) they were not filmed in higher resolution. But I still miss then all the same. I wish there was an option to download the lower resolution older scenes, even if I’m only seeing them in standard definition. They are still pretty to look at after all.
Best 4/5 K Screensaver
If you hae a 4-5K Mac monitor, you should get this screensaver. Best ever, with your choice of views that change with the light (quickly or slowly) over time. Very low price for what you get. Author is ready to help with advice. Highly recommended! If you have lower resolution screens, regular Magic Windows screensaver is what you want.

Beautiful … but laptops run hot
The photography here is 5 stars. I would have rated the overall application a solid 5 stars except that even on the slowest play setting it makes both of my MacbookPro’s (13” and 15”) run hot. True to the documentation, the Activity Monitor only shows around 5% CPU on the slowest setting, but I think there must be additional GPU processing… at any rate something is causing my machines to run so hot that I chose to disable this application. How they can fix it: I tested vs. native wallpaper (OS X System Preferences -> Desktop) with "Change picture" set to 5 seconds with very similar CPU and temperature results. So I don’t think this software is doing anything wrong other than updating the image rather frequently. I simply advise the developers to add an additional "really slow” playback speed. Have it update at 1 minute intervals. It’s still a really cool effect, and I wouldn’t hesitate to leave it running even when I’m on battery power. In the meantime here’s my workaround to still enjoy Magic Windows: I wrote a terminal loop to screencapture my favorite scene in a sequence of 50 or so images, put them into their own folder, then use the native Desktop pointed to that folder and set Change picture to 1 minute interval. Works and looks great!
I like it BUT
But… Like another reviewer said there should be not only more choices, but more importantly more diversity. A lot of different options of the same area/city. An app like this without a tropical beach option (you get one of the California coast) and no Las Vegas… is criminal. Las Vegas descending into night is the quintessential time lapse option. And with no tropical beach… I feel cheated. Fingers crossed they add those in the future. Tahiti, Hawaii, something like that. Other than that it works well and I have no technical issues with it. 2016 5k 27” iMac.
